Wheelchair Access

“With a host of impressive features and massive potential, we feel that the static caravan designs we can offer, all of which are bespoke to the individual, open up a new chapter in wheelchair access holidays and lifestyle possibilities.”
Wayne Scott Ross

Hulse Ross are one of the very few static caravan manufacturers who make provision for wheelchair access static caravans for semi-permanent or holiday home use. And by this we don’t just mean that we fit extra wide doorways!
Our layouts are designed to provide recommended clear access areas and dimensions, as you would expect, but more than that – as with all of our caravans you, the customer, can decide almost every aspect of the build.
All of our kitchens are made to order by a team of experienced, time served craftsmen, meaning that they are not bulk bought from China.

Remote controls can be incorporated if required for the likes of lighting and kitchen appliances, such as cooker/hob extractors. Our hobs can also be fitted with front edge controls, and for further safety, all are fitted with gas safety devices meaning that the gas will automatically switch off if the flame blows out or doesn’t ignite.
Kitchen unit interiors can be pulled out like drawers if required, and doors are fitted with specialised hinges allowing almost 180O opening, once again providing easier access.

It goes without saying that all aspects of our bathrooms will be designed in conjunction with yourselves, providing wheelchair access shower units or specialist baths.
Beds and bedrooms are designed to make allowances for lifting poles, grab handles and mattress inclinators.
So, what else can we provide? Raised sockets and TV points coupled with lowered switches, lowered kitchen worktops with easy access points allowing comfortable use of the facilities, alongwith deeply recessed plinths. Controls at the top of the radiators rather than at floor level, sunken doorways for ease of access. Personal alarm systems, mobile hoists and sling systems, overhead hoists, grab rails, even automatically opening doors if required.
Bringing a new host of opportunities to your lifestyle choices, Hulse Ross static caravan holiday homes. As we like to say – ‘giving you exactly what you want.’

APPROVAL FOR SALE WITHOUT V.A.T. Hulse Ross, as a manufacturer of static caravan holiday homes, are subject to the current rate of V.A.T., which for static caravans comes in at around 5% of the selling price as not all items are V.A.T. rated, however static caravans supplied by the manufacturer may be subject to Approval For Sale Without V.A.T. by HM C&E for static caravan holiday home units manufactured especially to suit a disabled person. Holiday homes must be purchased by a disabled person for their personal use, and the appropriate declaration form and paperwork submitted.
This exemption is also extended to Charities who purchase units to make available to physically challenged people.

All of the layouts shown below are designed to accommodate wheelchair access. As will be seen, they are primarily concerned with easy access and facilities for children, however Design WA5 is geared around adults.

As with all Hulse Ross floorplans, anything can be altered to suit the individuals, so long as they continue to meet the requirements of the relevant legislation – if you don’t see something that you want, just ask.

A 30x10 feet model, with large double bedroom at the rear allowing for a spacious floor entry area. The bathroom can be fitted with a bath if required, or a wet room option. A 1050mm wide corridor leads into the open plan kitchen area, which is fitted with oven, hob and extractor, as well as under worktop fridge with freezer compartment.
The living area comes with fixed seating as shown, or freestanding, gas fire with TV unit above and a table in the dining area. French or patio doors provide entry into the lounge area, and a pull out bed is an option here also. Carpeting throughout except around the kitchen.

A 38x12 feet layout from Hulse Ross, part of our wheelchair access range. French doors allow a large entrance area into a spacious living and dining section. Fixed seating can be fitted with a pull out bed if required, whilst the kitchen units can all be lowered for easier use.
A large 1200mm wide corridor (4 feet) leads through into the bedroom area with a second double bedroom allowing twin beds with ample space between (830mm or 2 feet 8 inches) on the left with the bathroom beyond. Once again, ample room here with a 1000mm (3 feet 4 inches) shower cubicle, and a wet room option and grab rails if required.
At the end of the corridor is the master bedroom, King size bed fitted as well as a range of wardrobe options available, all to suit your individual needs.

This is a 38x12 chassis and comprises two wheelchair accessible bedrooms. Our Master bedroom can be fitted with a King size bed, whilst the second bedroom can be converted to either a double room, bunks or a cross-over layout where one bed is at right angles and above the other. A clear metre of space between the kitchen units and the wall provides good access all round, and the living area is spacious with a lot of light coming in from the French/patio doors.
A second, rear doorway can provide access almost directly into the Master bedroom. The living/dining area is fitted with fixed seating, available with a pull out bed if need be, and can be replaced with freestanding furniture.
Finally, the bathroom can be fitted with a bath, as a wet room option and grab rails if required.

A brand new wheelchair accessible 3 bedroom layout, coming in at 38x12 feet. By placing the wheelchair accessible Master bedroom to the rear of the home, this has allowed more space to be made available in the lounge and diner area, as well as being directly adjacent to the bathroom. This can be fitted with a bath, as a wet room option (as shown) and grab rails if required.
The galley kitchen consists of sink, oven, hob and extractor above, as well as an under worktop fridge with freezer compartment. The living area has fixed seating with a dining table, a gas fire with TV unit above and a pull down bed if required. Front bedrooms consist of ¾ bed and bunks. A rear entry door is fitted as well as French or patio doors in the living area.
